War in Ukraine | Court orders Ramaphosa affidavit to be made public

JOHANNESBURG - The South Gauteng High Court has ordered President Cyril Ramaphosa's confidential affidavit on his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to be made public.

According to the order, Ramaphosa must have uploaded it into the court’s database by 2pm on Tuesday afternoon.

In June, Ramaphosa filed a confidential affidavit in response to a DA application seeking a declaratory order to compel the state to arrest Putin if he sets foot in the country.

Meanwhile, the Presidency has welcomed the decision saying Ramaphosa was never opposed to making the affidavit public, but that he had to comply with an ICC directive which sought to maintain confidentiality on the affidavit.
