Impeachment Inquiry | Mkhwebane still wants Dyantyi gone

PARLIAMENT - Suspended public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane, will not appear before Richard Dyantyi, who chairs Parliament’s Section 194 committee looking into her fitness to hold office.

Mkhwebane is not giving up her attempts to have Dyantyi removed from the committee.

In her latest recusal application, she said Dyantyi was central to alleged extortion attempts by the late MP Tina Joemat-Pettersson.

She said, "what is most puzzling is that I'm now expected to appear before the person named as the solicitor of the bribe."

"I've launched an application for the recusal after he failed to recuse himself voluntarily."

"This is even all these investigations against him. and an ongoing investigation by the magistrate who is conducting an inquest into the death of Ms Joemat-Peterson...Another serious investigation for breaching his oath of office by parliament."
