These include the 2021 July unrest and the devastating floods in 2022.

Economist, Professor Bonke Dumisa says while things seem to be moving in the right direction, investors still need assurance that the events of 2021 do not repeat themselves.

He said, "the province is recovering and there are stats which show things moving in that direction."

"Many people were not happy with what happened in 2021, we had Sasria reporting on claims in parliament. The damage in Durban was over R70-billion. Many businesses which were vandalised are now back in action."

"Everything is under control the only thing lacking is getting back 100 percent of investors confidence that the something that happened in July 2021 can flare up again."
