Taxi Chaos | CT motorists warned to avoid N2 due to public violence

CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town's law enforcement officials have issued a stern warning to motorists, to avoid the N2 inbound and outbound.

This is due to public violence related to the taxi strike on that route.

Meanwhile, talks between the Western Cape Department of Transport and the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) have been suspended.

SANTACO says the stay away will continue until Wednesday.

Commuters once again find themselves stranded.

The taxi organisation is calling on all its operators not to interfere with other modes of transport and to not take part in any criminal activities.

Since the start of the strike, several buses have been attacked and torched while e-hailing services were banned.

SANTACO says it's open to talks with the government.
