LUSIKISIKI - Deputy minister in the presidency Mmapaseka Letsike is calling on all sectors of society, to work together to end the scourge of gender-based violence.
Letsike was speaking at the memorial service of the 18 victims killed in a mass shooting in Lusikisiki, in the Eastern Cape.
A total of 15 women, including a 14-year-old, and three men were gunned down.
So far three suspects have been taken into custody.
Letsike said, ''Civil society, traditional leaders, government and including the private sector, must work together to end gender-based violence, our faith leaders, during this period, you’re going to have to raise the bar, give sense of hope that you’ve always built as part of your work.''
