DISCUSSION | ATM wants inquiry into alleged rand manipulation

CAPE TOWN - The ATM wants a Parliamentary inquiry into the alleged rand manipulation.

The party has written to National AssemblySpeaker Thoko Didiza to institute proceedings.

The currency manipulation started around 2015 when the Competition Commission alleged that several banks colluded to manipulate the value of the rand against the dollar.

But the Competition Appeal Court this year dismissed that case against majority of the banks.
