WATCH | Ramaphosa pays tribute to Buthelezi

ULUNDI - President Cyril Ramaphosa honoured late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi for his dedication to his heritage while delivering the eulogy at his funeral on Saturday.
Ramaphosa says Buthelezi emphasised diversity and cultural traditions that helped shape South African society. 

"Like me, he was deeply touched and impressed with the depth of diversity and wealth in our collective cultural heritage," he said.

"We both decided that we would want to have a display and celebration of all our cultures in the form of a national event or provincial event that will display these cultures and that they should be held in our provinces on a rotation basis."

Ramaphosa also reminisced on the political timeline of Buthelezi.

Ramaphosa says he and Buthelezi often did not agree but he admired the commitment they showed to finding common ground amongst political leaders.
