42 life terms for serial rapist

JOHANNESBURG - Serial rapist Nkosinathi Phakathi has been Sentenced to 42 life terms.

Phakathi has also been slapped with 791 years and 6 months direct imprisonment for kidnapping, rape, theft and compelling minors to witness a sexual act and assault.

The sentence was handed down in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge.

Phakathi pleaded guilty to 148 charges.

Some of his victims sitting in the gallery were visibly emotional.
