WATCH | State links former Cape Town MMC to gang boss

CAPE TOWN - The state has proposed bail of R200,000 for former Cape Town mayoral committee member, Malusi Booi.

The state alleges he had a corrupt relationship with the alleged leader of the 28s gang, Ralph Stanfield and his wife.

Booi's relationship with the couple led to 11 tenders being granted to three companies linked to the Stanfields.

The state is proposing bail for the  other nine accused ranging from 20-thousand to 200-thousand rand.

The magistrate will rule on bail on Friday.
