JOHANNESBURG - Chief Justice Raymond Zondo announced on Monday the first sitting of the National Assembly will take place this Friday.
This follows the declaration of the election results on 2 June.
Meanwhile the uMkhonto weSizwe party has asked the Constitutional Court for an urgent interdict to prohibit parliament from proceeding with the swearing in of new MPs and the election of the President.
Parliament has since cancelled all accommodation and flight arrangements for for the MK Party following its decision to boycott the first sitting of the body.
