Petrol price to drop by R2.04 a litre

JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Minerals and Energy says the price of petrol and diesel will drop at midnight Tuesday night

It will cost R2.04 less per litre to fill up with petrol.

Diesel will be 46 cents a litre cheaper.

The Department says it is able to lower the fuel price because of a drop in the price of brent crude oil and international petroleum products.

The rand has also appreciated slightly against the US dollar.
