UN General Assembly | Ramaphosa stresses cohesive approach to challenges

Following four years of official negotiations, UN member states finally agreed on the text for the treaty in March after a flurry of final, marathon talks

NEW YORK - President Cyril Ramaphosa has underlined the importance of dealing cohesively with world challenges.

Ramaphosa addressed heads of states and senior leaders at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Ramaphosa mentioned the importance of maintaining peace and fighting poverty.

World leaders are gathered at the UN Headquarters to address the critical challenges and gaps in global governance exposed by recent global shocks.

The president also called for developmental support for Africa during his address.
