War on illegal guns and drugs escalates

JOHANNESBURG - We've heard your cry, says Public Safety MMC in the City of Johannesburg, Mgcini Tshwaku.

He recently launched a massive joint operation aimed at countering the high levels of gun violence in hotspot areas like Eldorado Park.

The Portfolio Committee on Community Safety in the Gauteng Legislature has commended police and other Law Enforcement Agencies in the Province for achieving a significant decrease in overall crime.

This is during the first quarter of the 2024/25 Financial Year.

Operation Vaporize will be deployed on a larger scale in many of the hotspot areas in the city from 1 October in a second strike against the war on guns in the city.
