South African singer and worldwide music and fashion icon Tyla won another award in the last few days, this time a VMA for Best Afrobeats.

When the Water hitmaker went up to get her trophy and make her winner speech, she asked Lil Nas X to hold the trophy while she spoke, which is a perfectly normal thing to do. 

Winners do it all the time. Olivia Rodrigo did that recently. 

The trophies are heavy and some people like to use their hands when giving speeches. 

To Tyla’s credit, she did the funniest thing possible.
