PRETORIA - The recent mass shootings in the Eastern Cape have reignited calls for authorities to urgently address gun violence.
In just a week, 24 people were gunned down in two separate incidents in the Eastern Cape.

Five other people, all women, were gunned in separate incidents in KwaZulu-Natal at the weekend.
These senseless murders suggest that police are struggling to rid the streets of illegal firearms.
