SAP to pay R2.2bn in restitution to SA
JOHANNESBURG - South Africa will get just over R2-Billion paid back from the monies stolen through corrupt activities involving companies owned by the controversial Gupta family.
The US Federal Court confirmed a settlement agreement yesterday after software company SAP Global admitted to bribing SA officials and falsifying its books.
Several of the contracts the multinational company signed with government entities were intermediated by Gupta family companies.
The Guptas in turn benefited to the tune of R100-million in facilitation fees.
