Seven dead in suspected vigilante attacks in Diepsloot

JOHANNESBURG - The burnt bodies of seven young men, discovered in Diepsloot, have once again highlighted the rampant crime in the area.

Two bodies were discovered in the street in extension 13, and police suspect they were torched to death. Five others were found in extension 12 a few hours later.

No one has been arrested, and the reason behind the deaths is still unknown, although there are suspicions of vigilantism

Johannesburg Public Safety MMC Mgcini Tshwaku says residents are complaining that the police are incompetent of keeping criminals in check.
