EAST LONDON, EC - Friday's intended shutdown of Eastern Cape roads by taxi operators has been suspended.
Thursday's mini-bus taxi operators clashed with police and blockaded several roads forcing thousands of pupils to walk to school.

They were protesting late payments by the provincial transport department some of which they say have been outstanding since the beginning of the year.
