North West University to establish a medical school
MAHIKENG - North-West University is establishing a medical school to contribute to training world-class medical graduates.
This comes after extensive planning in collaboration with the North West Health Department.
The medical school's establishment comes at an opportune time, as South Africa is facing a dire shortage of medical doctors.
This could have consequences for the country’s healthcare and economic sectors, which are already under severe strain.
MEC for Health in the North West, Madoda Sambatha spoke with eNCA.
