Netball | Khanyisa Chawane begins journey as new SA skipper

JOHANNESBURG - 2024 has brought about it significant changes to South African netball.

Earlier in the year, the country's most successful club netball coach Jenny van Dyk was appointed the national team head coach, with Zanele Mdodana joining as her deputy. 

Then, last week, Khanyisa Chawane took over the reins as the senior team's new captain.

Chawane takes the baton from long-time skipper Bongi Msomi, who let the Spar Proteas since 2016. 

The 28-year-old Tzaneen-born Chawane has over 80 caps for her country since making her debut in 2018.
