GBV epidemic | Intimate partner femicide on the rise

JOHANNESBURG - The SA Medical Research Council says missing data is to blame for the low conviction rate in femicide cases.

Its study reveals a significant mismatch in the number of cases reported as compared to convictions.

It also found cases increased during the first year of the pandemic.
