Four Eastern Cape initiates die in four days

JOHANNESBURG - It’s initiation season and four initiates have already lost their lives in the Eastern Cape in four days.

The Commission for Gender Equality says authorities should be held accountable for the deaths of initiates.

It says government, law enforcement and traditional leaders are meant to keep initiates safe.
