JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier announced that a fund of R500 million will be established to support small businesses in townships including spaza shops.
It will be a joint fund managed by the Department of Trade, industry and Competition as well as the Department of Small Business Development.

It’s part of government’s response to illnesses and deaths linked to certain spaza shops and street vendors.
