JOHANNESBURG - Several by-elections have been held in various parts of the country this week.
In the Western Cape, the Patriotic Alliance gave the DA and the ANC much cause for concern by winning wards from both parties.

The ANC took a Polokwane ward from the EFF, while the DA won a ward from the ANC in the small town of Pearston in the Eastern Cape.
