JOHANNESBURG - Police are prioritising anti-crime fighting efforts like Operation Shanela.

Over 800 firearms and thousands of arrests have been made since its launch.

But, at the same time the police faces a drain of expertise.

It seems private security companies are offering much more lucrative paychecks.
