JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Electoral Commission found itself trending on X on Monday night.

But it says there should be no reason for anger or panic.

Allegations that election results were manipulated were rife on the social media platform.

It came as users noticed national numbers had suddenly doubled on its dashboard.

But the IEC says it simply added the regional compensatory ballots to the national numbers.
