JOHANNESBURG - Former EFF deputy president, Floyd Shivambu says he's not apologetic about his decision which saw him leave the party he co-founded.

Shivambu who's been named the MK Party's new national organiser says contrary to what some people have been saying, he didn't betray anyone.

He says he didn't join the MK Party for opportunistic purposes, but rather to build and move the country forward.

Meanwhile, according to political analyst, Sanet Madonsela Shivambu's appointment as MK Party's National Organiser was a smart move. 

She says while some may deem the appointment as a demotion from his position at the EFF, it's a move that will take the MK party to greater heights.

At the same time, political analyst, Professor Andre Duvenhage says MK Party will continue to be a threat to the ANC.

He says the announcement of the party's top leadership marks an era that will be difficult for the ANC ahead of and during the 2026 local government elections.
