CAPE TOWN - There are still hundreds of people in need of humanitarian aid in Riverlands in the Swartland Municipality in the Western Cape.
Severe flooding occurred after two retaining dams collapsed, leading to a third overflowing.
Houses were either damaged or completely destroyed leaving several families homeless.
Over 200 people are being housed at a local church and the Thusong Centre.
Fourteen people were taken to hospital on Thursday with minor injuries or hypothermia.
A 4th dam is currently stable and is closely being monitored.
