WATCH | eThekwini mayor hails Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule's legacy

DURBAN - eThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba welcomed mourners to Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule's funeral in Durban. 

He hailed Mbokazi-Nkambule's contribution to the city, adding he will work towards ensuring that her legacy is preserved.

The gospel legend and seasoned broadcaster was laid to rest on Saturday.

Big names from the music and the broadcast industry joined Mbokazi-Nkambule's family for her funeral at the Durban ICC.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Thami Ntuli was also in attendance.

He shared his own encounter with the late Crown Gospel Awards founder while he was still chairperson of SA Local Government Association.

Mbokazi-Nkambule also took up a role of being a mother to her late sister's children, she raised them as her own.
