JOHANNESBURG - Rand Water says all its systems are pumping at capacity following the damage at the Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant earlier this week.
Severe thunderstorms damaged the plant.
Reservoirs have been running dry, with communities in some areas struggling.
However, the utility says systems have improved in Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane.
Rand Water is urging the public to continue using water sparingly.
