Ramaphosa: No law was transgressed regarding Lady R but certain things could have been done better
PARLIAMENT - President Cyril Ramaphosa was in the National Council of Provinces on Thursday afternoon answering a range of questions.
The DA wanted to know more about the report on the docking of the Lady R cargo vessel at Simonstown Naval Base in December last year.
A probe was sparked after the US ambassador to South Africa Reuben Brigetty said in May, that he would bet his life on arms being loaded onto the Russian ship.
A diplomatic spat was caused and the value of our rand dipped because of it.
The panel found that no law was transgressed with the docking of the Lady R and arms were not loaded.
Ramaphosa says since the report was finalised in August, no new information about the docking has come to light
