Over 500 spaza shops closed for non-compliance in Gauteng

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Finance MEC Lebogang Maile is urging spaza shop owners to register their businesses before Friday.

He says while many have been calling for an extension, only President Cyril Ramaphosa can make that call.

Over 13,000 forms have been handed out to businesses, but many are yet to submit their applications.

There is also a large number of incomplete applications.

Maile says over 5-hundred spaza shops have been closed in Gauteng for non-compliance.
