JOHANNESBURG - Rand Water and Johannesburg Water are urging consumers to reduce consumption or face the possibility of a system collapse.
According to Rand Water, their primary and secondary stations are operating at maximum capacity.

Current high consumption is making it unable to maintain reservoir water levels.
Low water levels have been reported at reservoirs in Southern Johannesburg.
The Grand Central reservoir and Grand Central Tower in Midrand are empty while others are at critically low levels. Water trucks have been deployed to numerous areas.
