JOHANNESBURG - A total of 1,200 doctors' posts, 200 nursing positions and 250 other healthcare positions have been green-lit.
Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi announced this on Thursday.
This comes as a welcomed relief to many hospitals in provinces that struggled to hire more healthcare workers due to budgetary constraints.
An additional R1 billion will be spent on securing beds, mattresses, linen, sheets, pillows and bassinets for newborns.
