JOHANNESBURG - The Agnes Chidi Primary School in Mamelodi West launched the first of 100 science and mathematics container laboratories.
It's part of Ford Motor Company's celebrations marking 100 years of trading in South Africa.
Pupils got the chance to conduct experiments in the lab using work stations, tools, and educational materials.
Teachers were overjoyed to be chosen as the first institution to receive the cutting edge lab.
The project is a collaboration with the car company and Gift of the Givers.
Equipment manufacturers say the labs are fitted with top-notch, high tech apparatus tailored to the school curriculum.
The Basic Education Department says the initiative provides a much-needed boost.
