JOHANNESBURG - Former Treasury Director-General Dondo Mogajane has stepped down from all professional positions.
This includes as chairperson of the Government Employees Pension Fund.
He was accused of receiving a R1 million kickback from former VBS Mutual Bank chair Tshifhiwa Matodzi.
Matodzi has since pleaded guilty and is serving a 15-year sentence linked to the R2 billion siphoned from the bank.
Mogajane denies the bribery allegations.
On Monday, he says that he decided to step down from all my professional roles and the boards that he served, effective immediately."
