DA says Lesufi's apology should be to the people of Johannesburg

JOHANNESBURG - The DA in Gauteng say Premier Panyaza Lesufil’s apology was to the wrong person.

Lesufi has said sorry to President Cyril Ramphosa, about the poor state of Johannesburg. But the DA says he should instead apologise to residents.

Ramaphosa on Thursday lashed out at the state of the country's biggest city, Johannesburg, due to host the G20 summit later this year.

Known as the city of gold or Jozi, Johannesburg is South Africa's financial capital and home to the richest square mile in Africa.

But certain areas have fallen into a state of disrepair, a legacy of years of mismanagement in the city of nearly five million people.
