Cosatu paints SA red in protest against joblessness

JOHANNESBURG - It's been a slow start to Cosatu's mass nationwide protest, with workers trickling in to various sites.

The federation wants to highlight the unemployment and economic crisis.

Affiliated unions, including Sactwu and Saccawu, joined the strike.

Cosatu is demanding a moratorium on retrenchments.

It says it is unacceptable for employers to continue retrenching the few workers with jobs.
