Concerns over reports of alleged collapse of GBV Command Centre

JOHANNESBURG - Civil rights movement #NotInMyName is concerned by the recent statements made by Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu and her Deputy Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu over the alleged collapse of the Gender-Based Violence Command Centre.

During an interview with eNCA, Zulu denied claims that the center has collapsed, stating that it’s currently operating.

In a separate interview on the channel, the Deputy Minister strongly disagreed with Zulu, saying that she knows the center because she built it up and she monitors it.

Bogopane-Zulu also then raised concerns over procurement processes around the Command Centre operator.

#NotInMyName is now calling for an urgent investigation into the status of the centre and its procurement processes.
