DURBAN - There are growing calls for better protection of traditional leaders and herdsmen in KwaZulu-Natal.
A total of 29 Amakhosi and dozens of Izinduna have been gunned down in the last three years.
The KZN House of Traditional Leaders and the SA Local Government Association are leading the call.
Police say the motives are linked to disputes over chieftainship, land, and business deals.
Involvement in the taxi industry has also been flagged as a reason for disputes.
