JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg's City Power says the frequent bouts of two-hour power cuts in a day is meant to happen only once a week during Stage 1 and 2 blackouts.
The utility tried to alleviate some of the confusion around its schedule which it recently took over from Eskom.
Many residents complained about experiencing more blackouts than before.

The new time slots have caused mass confusion.
City Power spokesperson, Isaac Mangena, said they have been working on the glitch.
"When we took over the new schedule we didn't expect it will be smooth sailing because of some of the technical complexities that are attached to that migration," he said.
