2024 elections | IEC concerned about decline in voter turnout

JOHANNESBURG - Newly-appointed IEC commissioner Janet Yetta Love is worried about declining voter turnout numbers.

The electoral commission has been seeing a continuous trend of voter apathy.

In 2021, the local government elections witnessed the lowest ever turnout since 1994.

Love says it's important to have greater participation.
