JOHANNESBURG - The Border Management Authority is kicking it up a notch when it comes to keeping unwanted and illegal visitors at bay.
Commissioner Michael Masiapato says they have intercepted nearly 50,000 people attempting to enter the country illegally since April this year.
While giving an update on the security plans put in place for the festive season, Masiapato also said over 100,000 others who overstayed their welcome were sent home and banned from returning for the next 5 years.
