Fleurs was driving a red VW Golf GTI into a petrol station on 14th Avenue when he was confronted by two armed males.
Meanwhile, the football fraternity bid an emotional farewell to Fleurs at a memorial service held at FNB Stadium.
Former and current teammates and coaches spoke fondly of Fleurs' talent and skills on the football field and his larger-than-life personality that endued him to everyone he came across.
