Kaizer Chiefs march on to Nedbank Cup semi-finals

GQEBERHA - Kaizer Chiefs are through to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, after a controversial last-gasp victory over Stellenbosch FC at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Amakhosi looked set to advance 1-nil courtesy of Miguel Inacio’s penalty in the first half. However, the hosts levelled matters with just four minutes left before time.

That was not the end of drama in Gqeberha, as Chiefs took a 2-1 lead, through a contentious goal.

Pule Mmodi scored the winner after the referee needed a quick consultation with the linesman,
who reversed his initial call for a foul on goalkeeper, Sage Stephens.

Mfundo Vilakazi made it three at the death after Sage left his posts in the Stellies’ attack.
