Spectrum auction | Call for service providers to give free internet

JOHANNESBURG - Cellphone operators in South Africa have a lengthy history of missing connectivity targets and choosing to pay fines rather than increase network coverage.

The pledges made in the 2022 Spectrum Auction will become empty words in the absence of public pressure.

Friend of a Free Internet is starting a public awareness campaign to put pressure on the government to require cell providers to provide internet access.
