JOHANNESBURG - Residents are up in arms over power cuts in Northriding in Johannesburg.

They've taken to the streets to vent frustrations over the poor state of service delivery in the area.

Johannesburg Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda says the overloading of infrastructure is impacting negatively on service delivery.

He said, "there should be constructive conversations with, in particular, the department of development planning..."

"There is an issue of overload of infrastructure and it is impacting negatively on the service delivery but it's not due to a lack of budget or infrastructure, it is in fact, poor planning."
