JOHANNESBURG - Collaboration between police and Soweto residents has led to the arrest of a suspect linked to the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Orlando according to Gauteng police spokesperson, Mavela Masondo.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on Friday.
The Orlando East community was left enraged by the incident.
Mandoza Masanabo, the landlord who rented a dwelling to the suspected killer, spoke with eNCA.
He said the man had been staying at the residence for four months.
Masanabo apologised profusely, saying he and his family had no idea the man was capable of this kind of crime.
