MIDRAND - UDM leader Bantu Holomisa is confident his party will gain more seats in Parliament after the elections, but won't predict the party's performance just yet.
The party launched its election manifesto in Midrand on Saturday, promising to tackle unemployment, corruption, crime and the electricity crisis.
Holomisa says South Africa is in a crisis and there’s a deepening divide between government and the people.
The UDM has two seats in the National Assembly, down from the 14 it held at its peak.
It also has just two seats in the Eastern Cape legislature, where it enjoys noticeable support, but none in the other eight provincial legislatures.
Although the UDM is not part of the multi-party charter -- a pre-election alliance of 11 opposition parties -- Holomisa says he’s willing to work with any political group, including Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto WeSizwe party.
