State capture cloud hanging over some MK MPs

JOHANNESBURG  - The MK Party continues to make waves. It's attracted several high-profile members of late, including Floyd Shivambu and Mzwanele Manyi from the EFF.

On Thursday, the former Speaker of the Johannesburg council, Colleen Makhubele, said she would be joining the MK ranks.

In by-elections this week, the MK party won ward 45 of the Rustenburg municipality, a seat previously occupied by the ANC.

Also this week, a number of new faces joined the party’s lineup in parliament – many of them controversial.

Among those sworn in as new MPs on Wednesday were Siyabonga Gama, Brian Molefe and Lucky Montana, all implicated in state capture under Jacob Zuma when he was state President.

MK Party spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela discussed this with eNCA.
